8 Ways to Use Video in the Classroom Record Ideas Buddy Reading Show instructions Sharing work ESOL students recording in their own language Dictating a Storyboard Listening and Viewing Post Assembly Presentations
Why Use Video? Once students get past being shy allows all children including low level and  ESOL learners to contribute All students can share their own work with a bigger audience without getting shy Use of ‘own language’ Students are able to ‘hear’ their progress Utilises another one of the 5 senses (viewing) as opposed to just listening Provides another way of monitoring students
Tracking progress through inquiry Something to take home, easily viewed by many.   Captures their voice Not reliant on internet Utilising other equipment Multiple use of still cameras, web cams Learning other digital skills Why Use Video?

How? Any video recording device e.g. Flip Video, Still Camera, Web Cam, Video Camera Tripod        Upload onto class computers      Splitter

Organisation and Management in classsee:  http://ictprofessionaldevelopment.wikispaces.com Have a few ‘text-perts’ who you train and can help demonstrate and trouble-shoot Set Rules – class rules and use of equipment Have a symbol on the board when recording – good way to keep the noise down Make sure you have consent Have a rosteredsystem
Sharing/Saving Save files onto Class Desktop or in Class Documents for easy viewing Organise your folders – Each child having a folder for each curriculum area. For each curriculum area have a folder of resources. Other viewing options: TV and DVD unit for viewing View on iPods/iPads
