2. Genre and Style
• I haven’t yet come up with a title yet.
• The genre for my opening sequence is action and
thriller combined.
• The pace of the clip will be slow but it might
become fast at some points near the end.
• The camera will be on the tri-pod for the majority
of my opening.
3. Synopsis (Plot)
• A man is jogging.
• Passes two men.
• They follow him.
• Near the end, the jogger gets knocked out.
• He is tied up in an unknown location.
• Music plays throughout the opening apart from
the end.
4. Research into Similar Films
•
•
“I Spit On Your Grave” (2010) which was directed by Steven R. Monroe, is a
similar film to my idea. In this film a writer is brutalized during her cabin
retreat and seeks revenge on her attackers, who left her for dead.
“Parker” (2013) which was directed by Taylor Hackford, is another film that is
similar to my idea. This this film a thief with a unique code of professional
ethics is double-crossed by his crew and left for dead. Assuming a new
disguise and forming an unlikely alliance with a woman on the inside, he
looks to hijack the score of the crew's latest heist. This film is more similar to
my idea because it involves more action which is what I want to mostly
include into my idea.
5. Research into Audience
• The audience I would be aiming my film at would
be 15+ because most films that are similar to
mine are the same but only a couple are 18+.
• My audience would be people who are interested
in action films and also thriller films.
• I am also aiming my film towards the male teen
audience since my film is male based.
6. Location Recce
• The location for my opening sequence is the woodland
track underneath the Bilton Viaduct.
• I don’t need permission to film here because it is public
land and it is easily accessible.
7. Script/Storyboard
• There isn’t a script for my opening because
there is no talking during the clip. There
will only be background noises such as
birds or trees blowing in the wind.
• There will be some slow, tension building
music in the background.
