Objectives:
- To explore research on Web 2.0 applied to ELT.
- To refer to different views on the future of technology in education.
- To apply the APA conventions to written academic paper.
TASK: (INDIVIDUAL)
- Choose a chapter in the e-book by Thomas, M (2009) Hanbook of Research on Web
2.o and Second Language Learning.
- Write your name next to the chapter in Google docs so that no other student teacher
chooses the same chapter:

- Write an essay discussing the main focus of the chapter chosen (between 500-800
words). Divide your essay in well-organized paragraphs. Make sure you quote and
cite the authors as many times as possible and watch your paper layout (Front page,
footer with name and institution, fonts, margins, etc). You may also refer to other
sources as long as you acknowledge them and include them properly in the section
for “Works Cited”.

- In a separate section of your assignment write briefly about “The future of
Technology in ELT” (100-200 words). You may refer to chapter 11 in Dudeney &
Hockly (2007) How to Teach English with Technology and to the foreword in
Sharma & Barrett (2007) Blended Learning (page 132).
- You may ask a partner to peer review your work as usual.
- Post your work to Slideshare and Create a new block in your network profile to
embed your work.
- Upload your work on campus (You should get some feedback on it no later than 48
hs. after posting it)
- Only then will you be expected to complete your Course Assessment on campus,
and if all your assignments have been passed you will then be ready to sit for the
final exam.
REMEMBER to take a printed copy of all your assignments on exam date (the
documents you posted on campus)
