2. Hubert lived in the Pyreneans. It was late July and it was very hot.

3. He was drinking a cold lemonade, while reading his newspaper.

4. Hubert was an old man. He had a wooden leg. He had no family and lived in a little
house in the mountain.

5. Hubert had red hair, a mustache, a beard, and he looked very fat. He was simple-
minded and sometimes acted very stupid.

6. As he was reading his newspaper, his glass fell and a fairy came out of it.

7. The fairy was young, small, thin, and she could fly. She had blue eyes and blond
hair. But she could be over sensitive and easily upset.

8. The fairy said: « Hi! I am the fairy of the glass, so, you can make five wishes. Hubert
answered « Well, this is very nice, thank you! »

9. The first wish was that Hubert wanted to be taken to a bakery just to buy some
bread. The fairy found that very stupid but she accepted to fulfill his wish,
Fortunately, nobody had seen the fairy

10. After that, the man decided to be teleported onto a tree to take eggs because he
wanted to make an omelette, In fact, Hubert was old and couldn’t move a lot.

11. Then Hubert said that he wanted to find the pink sock he had lost a long time
before.

12. The fairy was irritated and upset. She wished that Hubert had made a better use of
the two wishes.

13. But the old man wanted to have a new cold lemonade!!!

14. The man was furious that the fairy crititized his wish and told the fairy that she had
to leave. This was his last wish.

15. The fairy was furious and she flew away!

16. Hubert drank his lemonade and resumed reading his newspaper just as he had
before, He said : « Alone at last! I feel so good ! »

Conclusion : Happiness is easy : it means simple things, not money or anything like
it.
