2. THE AIM OF THE PROJECT
• With ever increasing penetration of
smartphones & internet in the last mile
zones, providing a platform that
connects people to their government
and the culture around.
• Effectively solicit important information
about Good Governance (GG) to a large
audience.
• Enable masses to communicate about
the Government Products/Schemes with
the stakeholders, get the queries
resolved and get the necessary
information to avail the benefits easily
and smoothly
3. THE AIM OF THE PROJECT
• Participation of not only a selected few,
but, all people of the community, be it in
Rural or Urban areas.
• Helping Government to work with
various communities, as a collective,
with full enthusiasm towards issues and
agendas at hand.
• Raising awareness and confidence of
people in their government.
• Creating impact in areas where all
traditional models have failed.
5. ABOUT THE PLATFORM
• A radio platform built on the proven and effective model of community radios.
• The major difference being, the platform will work on the internet.
• A hyper-participative-model that involves people for the content playing on the
radio channel throughout.
• The aim of the project is to strengthen trust between people, administration and
their government.
• Includes taking up local issues and grievances and answering them transparently
in public through the radio channel as a medium of communication.
• Cultural upliftment by giving a platform to the local / hidden / dying local talent and
bringing them into the limelight by giving them a canvas of creative expression.
• Increasing awareness about various government schemes that are meant for
people to take benefit from.
7. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING & SEGREGATING IMPACT ZONES
STEP 2 :
CREATING ZONE SPECIFIC RADIO CHANNELS
STEP 3 :
BUILDING FOOTPRINT & MANAGING CHANNELS
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT, ANALYSIS
8. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING IMPACT ZONES
• An impact zone, in context of this project,
is a collective of people that share
common interests, agendas and
characteristics with respect to the
geographical region that they belong to.
• For a government to create good impact
amongst its people, it is important to
reach out to the people with content
specific to the area or district that they
belong to.
• Each area / district may be thought of as
an independent zone that has its own
characteristics, issues and an
independent ecosystem.
9. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING IMPACT ZONES
• Banda district has
● 5 tehsil, 8 Blocks, 29 Wards and
200+ Villages
• Through the establishment of this project,
we aim at creating one full fledged
interactive radio channel per ward/block
operating in full capacity.
• Along with independent ward/block radio
channels, there will be one umbrella
radio channel that is available for the
entire district.
• The main purpose of the umbrella
channel will be to help direct people to
the right ward/block level radio channel
that is relevant to them.
10. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING & SEGREGATING IMPACT ZONES
STEP 2 :
CREATING ZONE SPECIFIC RADIO CHANNELS
STEP 3 :
BUILDING FOOTPRINT & MANAGING CHANNELS
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT, ANALYSIS
11. STEP 2 :
RADIO CHANNEL PER WARD/BLOCK/VILLAGE
• Since the content of channels is based on
ward/block level Public Schemes and Services,
agendas and issues, we will have a radio
channel per ward/block or at Village level.
• This makes it easy to target the audience with
the right kind of content and engagement
points as per ward/block or at Village that they
belong to.
• Along with content for radio, similar exercise of
creating tailor-made content shall be done for
on demand audio podcasts as well.
• Aiming at reaching out to and encouraging
people of a ward/block/village to participate in
the content development for the radio channel
in their ward/block/village.
12. STEP 2 :
RADIO CHANNEL PER WARD/BLOCK/VILLAGE
• Dividing establishment of radio channels into
phases.
• Aiming at roughly 5 channels per phase.
• Possibility of also creating terrestrial broadcast
channels of some radio channels. Particularly
in the ward/block that are extremely important.
13. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING & SEGREGATING IMPACT ZONES
STEP 2 :
CREATING ZONE SPECIFIC RADIO CHANNELS
STEP 3 :
BUILDING FOOTPRINT & MANAGING CHANNELS
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT & ANALYSIS
14. • Integration with all existing government
websites
• Integration with all existing government
Mobile Apps
• Creating Apps for the radio specifically.
• Creating a full website for the radio
platform.
• Using one liners for publicity with each
government advert playing on
traditional radio channels or TV
channels.
• Publicity in icon form or one liners with
government ads on print.
STEP 3 :
FOOTPRINT & MANAGEMENT
15. • At District, Formation of District Level
Task Force (3-41 member team)
• At Block, Formation of Block Level
Task Force (3-4 member team)
• At Village/Ward, Formation of
“Sanchaar Sena” (11 member team)
•
STEP 3 :
FOOTPRINT & MANAGEMENT
16. STEP 1 :
IDENTIFYING & SEGREGATING IMPACT ZONES
STEP 2 :
CREATING ZONE SPECIFIC RADIO CHANNELS
STEP 3 :
BUILDING FOOTPRINT & MANAGING CHANNELS
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT & ANALYSIS
17. • Since the content of each channel is based
on ward/block/village level policies,
agendas and issues, we will have a radio
channel per ward/block/village.
• This makes it easy to target the audience
with the right kind of content and
engagement points as per the
ward/block/village that they belong to.
• Aiming at reaching out to and encouraging
people of a ward/block/village to participate
in the content development for the radio
channel in their ward/block/village.
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT &
ANALYSIS
18. • By keeping the radio channels segregated
as per the ward/block/village
characteristics, it will encourage people to
come forward with their voices to express
themselves fully and discuss in public,
about various policies.
• Using all the voices and interest that we
capture from these districts, it will help us
evaluate the sentiments of the people
towards the government so they can be
targeted with kind of content that is suitable
for them.
• It becomes a very powerful tool promoting
personalised interaction between people
and their government.
STEP 4 :
CONTENT, LISTENER ENGAGEMENT &

• This will create direct impact amongst listeners.
MOBILE APP QUICK WALKTHROUGH
27. • Voice based communication is a great medium rapid interaction and creating a
sense of engagement (opinions, news, comments, interviews etc).
• Extremely useful for people in rural communities who cannot read or write.
• It instantly solves the language issues.
• Video takes away the comfort factor of coming out with opinions. Audio alone
has no such issues. Besides, it keeps a check on spam profiles. How many
different voices can a person really communicate in.
• Internet based radios are an amazing way for distributed communities as well.
• Collaborations are easy and rapid.
OUR PHILOSOPHY (WHY RADIO)
29. • Fairly large setup cost
• Limitations of broadcast range.
• Limitations in devices able to receive
and play the broadcast
• Complicated softwares + hardware
and their learning curves.
• Crowdsourcing content has logistical
bottlenecks.
• Maintenance is difficult and comes at
a large cost.
• Limited Scalability
• Tough regulations for terrestrial
broadcast.
• Highly cost effective.
• It is available wherever internet is.
• Received on all smart phones /
devices with internet.
• Customised easy to use “TM-i”
platform.
• Rapid and seamless content
creation
• Maintenance is extremely easy
and has an extremely low cost
• Highly Scalable.
• No regulations on the internet.
TRADITIONAL RADIO VS INTERNET RADIO
31. • A great tool to promote all inclusive governance and development model ranging
from culture, rural development, education, hygiene and sanitation, agriculture to
local governance. It acts as strong interface between duty bearers and rights
holders.
• Important for National Integration of distributed communities, sectors,
ward/block, villages etc. An important process of making young rural generations
(whose roots do not go deeper than two generations perhaps) become an
inclusive part of the broader society without discounting their original identities.
• An important enabler of the process of developing a sense of oneness where
diversities are recognised and respected by imbibing a sense of nationhood,
ultimately laying down a platform for a multicultural, pluralist society.
SCALABILITY & POTENTIAL
32. • Community radios could play an important role in the process of dissemination
of government schemes through the country, as well as, getting feedback from
different communities and beneficiaries spread across the length and breadth of
the country.
• Brings a sense of cultural closeness since majority of the community radios
broadcast in local languages specific to a certain type of geographical or agenda
based community.
• To accept the practice of access and participation encourages professional
media fraternity to adopt a responsive approach instead of a promotional one.
