George Hayhoe spent 18 years as a technical communicator for Du Pont and Westinghouse, as well as for several smaller companies. He has taught in the master’s and doctoral programs in technical communication at Utah State University and East Carolina University, and is currently professor of technical communication and director of the Master of Science program in technical communication management at Mercer University. A fellow of the Society for Technical Communication since 1997, he was editor of its journal, <i>Technical Communication</i>, from 1996 to 2008.
