3. The film is set in the countryside, in the present day. The
setting is quiet. The outsider, Matt Damon, disturbs that
peace and that’s how he stands out as the outsider. I chose
the director to be Nick Cassavetes, as I love his work with
the 2004 film, ‘The Notebook’ which is also a romance. I
chose Leonardo and Kate to play along side each other, as
I love their work together. When they played, Rose and
Jack in James Cameron’s Titanic, it really showed that
they have a true connection which shows through their
work, which is why I chose them for this film. If the film
was produced I wouldn’t like it to be strictly a romance, I
would have action as a genre also. To make it more
exciting, and just so it’s not simply concentrating on
being one genre. Which makes Matt Damon a perfect
choice, because of his work in the Bourne films. The film
would concentrate on Dicaprio’s and Winslet’s
relationship, then when Damon is introduced things
change, but for the better.
