3. WESTERN HOSPITAL
 Western hospital is a General Hospital with over 25 years experience in health
care.
 They were the first team to have done a Kidney Transplant in Srilanka at 1985.
 It’s a General Hospital consist with these facilities.
 OPD
 Channeling
 Pharmacy
 Medical laboratory
 Clinical services

4. PROBLEM SPECIFICATION
 Existing Few Systems itself faces lot of difficulties because it has lot of errors.
 So they are really difficulty when using the existing system and also handling details in
books and manually written Forms.
 Mainly we are focusing in Hospital Management areas in the System.

5. SOLUTION OUTLINE
 So the solution is a System with exact functions that they need.
 To handle patients we are going to add OPD, Billing, Laboratory management, Pharmacy
Management, Medical Statistics units to the system separately.
 We are going to add some interesting Alerting Systems
 Email and SMS based Notification Systems required for a better management.
 Android based Mobile eChanneling Application.
 We are concentrating on the required Security of the System as well.
 Firewalls, Login Controls

6. KEY BENEFITS OF THE SYSTEM
 Mainly the complexity of their work will be reduced after building this system.
 And also system bears some more benefits to the hospital such as;
 Administration can take summary reports whenever they need from the system.
 Can reduce errors of putting unnecessary purchase orders.
 Laboratory staff can get a fully detailed description about the patients.
 Doctors will be benefited.
 Cashiers can improve the efficiency with the newly automated system when issuing receipts.
 As we are making this a Desktop based solution offline access is possible.
 Patients who got Android Mobile can simply channel doctors via the Android Application.

7. OBJECTIVES
 Actually Open MRM is a Product not aimed only for this Client.
 Western Hospital is giving us the main background environment of such a kind of
Medium scaled hospital.
 Our target is to build it in a standard way that any medium scaled hospital can plug it
just after few Configurations.
 So this “Open MRM” can introduce as a Free and Open source product which will
be available anyone globally as a Free product after its Development.

8. PROCEDURE
 All major functions of the project is divided between the 5 group members
 The members were given functions according to their interests and their skills
then as the modules will be well-developed.
 Feasibility Study, Gathering Requirements, Design, Coding, Testing will be done soon after.

9. HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Software
 As we are going to make this as a Desktop Application based Free product we thought to make this using Java
itself popular as a programming Language supports Free Technologies too.
 So we are Using Java SE Technologies for building the Product.
 NetBeans IDE.
 MySql Database Server.
 Jasper Reporting.
 Eclipse IDE (Developing Android - Mobile Channeling Application)
Hardware
 Actually we don’t need very high end machines for running the System.
 A Pentium 4 machine is well enough to process the tasks.

10. CONCLUSION
 We are going to be strict on Current Medical System Standards as we are getting
the Support of few Doctors at the Hospital.
 Intentionally We want to make this “Open MRM” a Free and Open Source Product
which tends to be used in Any Medium scaled hospital, cause for the well being of
Medical Section in our Country.
 That’s the main idea of this Product. 
