2. About the University
Rani Channamma University has been established at Belagavi in the year 2010 by the
Government of Karnataka through its official Gazette Notification on 9th September,
2010 vide Gazette Notification No SAMVYASHAE 22 SHASANA 2010, Bangalore
dated 9th September, 2010 by upgrading the erstwhile Karnataka University Kittur Rani
Channamma Post Graduate Centre at Belagavi which was established by the Karnataka
University, Dharwad in the year 1982. The main aim of this Rani Channamma University
is to provide an opportunity to develop access to the students for higher education hailing
from North Karnataka Region. At present, the Rani Channamma University has the Main
Campus, called “Vidyasangama”, as its Head Quarter, of 172 acres of greenery land of
picturesque landscape located near Bhutaramanahatti, adjacent to the Poona –Bangalore
National Highway -4 at a distance of about 18 kms. from Belagavi city; and has been
functioning with the jurisdiction of Belagavi, Bijapur and Bagalkot districts. It is catering
to the needs of the people of North Karnataka by providing excellent opportunities for
Higher Education.
About the Department
The Department of studies in Economics is a very old department in this University.
Since the last three decades, the department is offering the post graduate and doctorate
degrees to the students of this region. The department is well equipped with the library
and computer facilities. At present, there are six faculty members and most of them have
completed the major and minor research projects funded by the UGC, ICSSR, Ministry of
HRD, etc.
Significance of the Conference
The aim of this conference is to discuss certain issues and constraints encountered
in bringing about inclusive growth in India agriculture. The importance of this conference
lies in the fact that India being a sovereign, socialist, democratic, republic, it is imperative
on the policies of the government to ensure equitable growth of all sections of the
economy. It is essential for any economy to aim at inclusive growth involving each
citizen in the economic development progression. Against the backdrop of long-term
underinvestment and neglect of agriculture, insecurity of livelihoods and job precocity
remain the unfortunate norm for the majority of rural workers in the global South.
Fashioning a sustainable agricultural development strategy will therefore require a
concerted effort to ally the drivers of economic growth with a spirit of social care. By
inviting leading experts to speak on key issues within the field of on important elements
of Inclusive Growth in agriculture.
Objectives:
The objective of the seminar is to provide a platform for evolving strategies for
accelerated inclusive growth, provide constructive suggestions to policy makers, to
explore innovations in the area and the way forward. The following are the specific
objectives of the seminar:
3. 1. To analyze the past performance and future prospects of Indian agriculture.
2. To develop mechanisms for up scaling and out scaling of successful models in
order to attain a higher, sustainable and inclusive growth in agriculture.
3. To generate empirical information on the important elements of Inclusive growth
in agriculture to suggest measures for framing /modifying the existing policies in
order to reach the benefits of the rapid economic growth to all sections of the
society in agricultural sector.
4. To identify the issues, challenges, problems and constraints in achieving the
inclusive growth in agriculture.
5. To identify appropriate policies, institutional arrangements and technological
needs for future.

Call for Papers
Theoretical conceptual and empirical research papers which are of original and not
published elsewhere are invited from academics researcher and practitioners on various
sub-themes mentioned above or any issues related to the main theme of the conference.
Selected papers will be published in book form with ISBN no. Papers must reach
latest by 30th
January 2017. Papers received after the last date will not be considered for
publication in the Conference Volume. Others can however be allowed to present their
papers received after the due date.
4. Guidelines for Submission of Abstract and Full Papers
The research papers shall be preferably in the standard research format, abstract, spelling
out the need for study, hypothesis if any, methodology, techniques of data analysis,
findings/ results, conclusion, references and statistical tables, in that order. Expert
committees will short list the selected papers. Research Paper with an abstract of not
more than 500 words may be submitted in hard and soft copy form to Organizing

30th
, 2017. Acceptance of paper will be intimated on February 1st
2017. Time allotted
for each paper presentation will be 10 minutes, followed by a discussion for 05 minutes.
The registration fee shall be paid by DD or NEFT and DD must be drawn in
