Learning outcome :
By the end of the lesson, pupils
will be able to measure and
compare volume of liquids .
Prior knowledge:
pupils have learnt how to
compare objects – more or
less, many or few, high or low
during their previous lesson.
Teaching aids :
* different shape of containers
of water
* measuring containers
Procedure:
a teacher divide the class into
groups of three pupils. Let them
work in their cooperative groups
b appoint one pupils to be
recorder in group.
c teacher shows four different
container of water, asks pupils
which container has more
volume.

d teacher let the pupils do the
guessing and record in the
given table.

Order of
volume
For ‘ guessing ‘and ‘order of volume’
Fill ‘1’ for the biggest volume, ‘2’ for the second and so on.
e teacher let each group take
their teaching aids to measure
and compare the volume
f pupils take the measuring
container to measure the
volume of four different
containers of water.
h pupils record the volume of
water for each different
containers in descending order.
i after the experiment, pupils
tell the teacher which
container has the most volume
and the least volume in
descending order.
Conclusion :
pupils will learn the volume of
liquid is not simply look at its
height.
