This document discusses how overconsumption of resources is fueling many global and domestic problems, as unlimited desires are confronted by fundamental scarcity. However, sharing underutilized resources with others through convenient platforms could be an effective strategy to confront these issues in a more sustainable way, while also allowing people to have more fun with less stuff. Existing organizations are leading the way in facilitating greater resource sharing through new technologies.

14. Sure, we can blame advertisers for tempting us

15. but knowing how many wonderful things there are to be had

16. can we fault people for wanting experience them all?

17. However, as any economist will tell you, we are at an impasse

19. are confronted by a fundamental scarcity of resources

20. everyone cannot simultaneously enjoy what some already have

21. those resource-intensive luxuries that the rich take for granted

22. Humanity aspiring to this dream of unbridled material prosperity will beget nightmares because we cannot yet achieve it in a sustainable fashion. But surely you've heard enough about this dilemma ...

24. maybe not... perhaps these arguments aren't compelling

25. or now you just feel so fatalistic about the future

26. that you're verging on something like eco-nihilism

27. Take heart in this idea: you can have more fun with less stuff
