2. Internet The internet is a global network of computes that communicate using internet Protocol (IP). It should be used for getting information on a topic you need and to communicate with relatives far away. A browser is a software used for retrieving, presetting and traversing information. A search engine helps you find what you want to know example Google, Bing.

You should not give personal information out on chat sites like AIM, Face Book, MySpace exp… If u find a person that wants to know or asks you should go to your parents right away and not take to them. Personal information that you should not give out such as how old you are where you live and things about your family. Safety on the internet

5. What types of things can and should the internet be used for? Looking up information for school and projects and to communicate with friends in a safe way.

6. What does www stand for and how is it different than the internet It stands for the World Wide Web. It is different than the internet because the World Wide Web is part of the internet.

7. What is a browser? Name two. It’s a software application for retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. Two examples are internet explorer and planet web.

8. What do you use a search engine for? To search for information on the web.

9. Name three benefits from joining the information super highway. You can contact people for free, easy to use and to enjoy entertainment.

10. What can be done to promote safe internet surfing? Don’t give out private information about your self, and don’t go into any unsafe chat rooms . Only go on websites if you know there safe, and don’t talk to anyone you don’t know!

11. What type of information should be given out over the internet? What should not? You can put out what your age is but don’t put what your full name is and where you live.

16. It could get you in a lot of trouble if you write some wrong or sexual things in the chat roomInformation in a chat room you can give out would be: Your name but just first not last. What you like and academic and sport perspective but don’t tell them if you play on a team.

What is Spam Spam= a bunch of the same thing sent in bulk to various places There are many types of spam Grenade spam = made popular in online games like call of duty and counter strike when you throw a lot of grenades and random places hoping for a score . Spam mail= spam mail is when some one sends a bunch of random people a letter either containing, adds, viruses , chain mail.

20. What Should You Do if You Receive Spam? Delete it And if its chain mail or other things that asks you to send it to other places DON’T!

21. What Should You Do With an Email Attachment from someone you don’t know? If it seems serious virus scan it first If it is not serious or has a virus delete it and report it.
