I did my presentation on Year round schooling. I am in favor of keeping the schools open year round.
Year round schooling has a huge advantage on students. It has a rise in state standards and it is easier for the students to retain information from year to year.
Year round schooling has major financial advantages. Schools can save on funding by closing their schools during periods where cost will be high, such as in the winter. Schools who can not afford to build additional school buildings can educate more students within their current facilities.
Schools are open to students right now on a ten month system. This was established when the United States was still an agricultural nation. When children were needed on the farms to help out their family. Obviously times have changed and children’s main goal is education now.

The people that are in favor of this idea have very good reasons to be. Students tend to forget a lot of those long summer breaks having just short breaks really helps the students and teachers out. The schools will be used to its full advantage. Shorter breaks can provide time for students to receive enrichment education.
Those who are opposed to this idea to have some good points, such as teacher unions have concerns with year round schooling because sometimes teachers have second jobs during the summer to support their family. It is almost impossible for high schools students to get jobs.
