United Nations New York
In 1985, as a representative of the United States, then first lady Nancy Reagan presented a mosaic to the United Nations to celebrate the organization's 40th anniversary. The Golden Rule mosaic was a creation of Venetian artists and was based on a painting by Norman Rockwell . Depicting people of all races, religion, creed and hue, the mosaic imparts the message to " do unto others as you would have them do unto you ". [7]

Education used to be about transfer of information from teacher to student. Now there is too much information available in the world. Much of this information is being used by people trying to sell us something: an idea, a product, a political agenda, a way of seeing our entire country. New Hampton School's Junior Urban Adventure attempts to turn around this notion of one-way education in the same way that Web 2.0 is changing the way we think about the web. Students will learn to ask questions, make meaning from the glut of information available to them and engage, upload and maybe even start to solve some of the world's problems. I was inspired by many people and many YouTubers to create this video - and much of their work appears here. More than that - I've also been inspired by them to make their ideas actionable and create a learning experience that I hope will do justice to their work. Please check them out! Task Identity: the extent to which a job requires that a worker perform all the tasks necessary to complete the job from the beginning to the end of the production process. Example: a crafts worker who takes a piece of wood and transforms it into furniture. Here the make-up artist is performing her task by ultimately satisfying the customer with her new look.
