CADE uses Second Life for anti-violence training for the CeaseFire program. It allows ex-gang members to learn to stop shootings and killings through street-level outreach and community role play in various virtual urban environments. CADE also does public health emergency preparedness training in Second Life.

8. Stephen White I was born and raised in Chicago. I attended Julian High School and dropped out to pursue at “street” lifestyle. As a result, I was incarcerated for four years. After my incarceration I joined CeaseFire as a Violence Interrupter. Since 2005 I’ve participated in mediating over 20 conflicts in the Woodlawn Community. -- Stephan White 8

10. Bernard Baltimore I was gang affiliated at a very young age and only made it to the 11th grade. Shortly after being released from prison, I was introduced to CeaseFire.
