Process  of downsizing
Process of downsizing Rule 1         there is a greater need for communication and coordination during downsizing,various tools of communication such as letters memos notices etc Rule 2          every effort should be made to try other options .the employees must be convinced that the organization is downsizing as a resort, after having tried all other possibilities
Rule 3         organizations have to generous and  justify their actions. the criteria for removing people should be fair and justified  Rule 4     organizational have to take care of people, who are leaving the organization they should be provided outplacement services  alone with several benefits
Rule 5            after the downsizing exercise make the required changes in positions and redirect the employees efforts, their roles can be modified ,

Concept of turnover The rate at which the employees join and leave an organization is called turnover There are a number of costs involved when there is  a high turnover of employees  Hiring costs Training costs Loss of production and man hours during the period of absence of employee Turnover can be categorized as functional or dysfunctional
