• There are 33 Nos. of Unidrive Classic and the Range of the Motors from 5.5 KW to
400 KW.
• All the Line Drives are connected on COMMON DC BUS.
• One no. of 2000 Amps Uncontrolled Diode bridge is there to provide the DC
Supply.
• Also, there are 19 Nos. of Auxiliary Drives (5 Nos. Unidrive Classic for higher
rating and Commander SE Drives for the remaining).
• Further,there are some emergency Drives, which are related to the furnace
system
• 3 Nos. of Siliconics Soft Starters used for Heater Controls.

• The CR coils directly from 6
Hi/4 Hi mills are transferred to
CGL lines.
• The Strip passes through
various processes to remove
defects, etc.
• CGL being a continuous line, the coils passed through Looper.
• Continuous annealing of coils takes place in an on line annealing
furnace ( to clean the coils and anneal the coil to achieve desired
hardness). The temperature of strip in this pre-heating oxidizing
furnace would be between 550 and 680 C.

• There are 2 sets of 1024 Power tags SCADA Stations, One
for Line Operations and other is dedicated for Furnace
Operations.
• Siemens WinCC SCADA Package is used.
• SCADA is connected to PLC System through Profibus-DP.
• In addition, there are 4 Nos. of Operator Interface units
(OP170B), which are fitted on the Control Desks.
