Our 2.6 million square foot convention center is located right on the picturesque San Diego Bay, and can be accessed by both land and sea.
- Should you decide to hold your convention, meeting or special event at the San Diego Marriott, there are countless ways we can make your stay more enjoyable. Our facilities have won the Prime Site Award, Best Convention Center Award and many others. In addition to the facilities, our staff offers five-star service to everyone - from attendees to family members.
- Should you start your journey by air, you be greeted by the fine folks at the San Diego International Airport just miles from the downtown of the city. Our airport is serviced by all major airlines, and the landing offers beautiful views of the city. On a clear day (which is the norm - not the exception) the entire skyline is visible, including the famous Coronado Bridge and Island.
- As mentioned previously, our facilities are award-winning and more than adequate for any function you may be planning. Do you need an intimate room for a small business meeting? In fact, we are so dedicated to protecting the natural beauty around us that our convention center has won the Recycler of the Year Award, Waste Reduction Awards Program and is considered one of the greenest convention centers in the country.

We take part in many best practices, including waste minimization, energy efficiency, water conservation, food composting, environmental purchasing and donating reusable goods. This ensures that we reduce our carbon footprint and enhance the stunning beauty of our grounds and the surrounding city.
- Just a very short walk from our front door is the historic Gaslamp Quarter. This area was founded in the 1850s in an attempt to create a city on the San Diego Bay. It gets its unique name from the gas-powered lamps that light its vibrant and crowded streets. This area is home to some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment in the city, and is an absolute must-visit for any visitor, either for business or pleasure.
- The Gaslamp Quarter is ideal for both business and pleasure. Did you meet a potential client at your convention? Why don’t you treat them to a meal at the always-trendy Gas Lamp Strip Club, pictured above. Their unique atmosphere and open-grill cooking center (where you cook your meat to your own liking) provide the perfect atmosphere for a business lunch or dinner. If steak is not your thing, there are restaurants for any palate within walking distance.
- While you are slaving away at your business meeting, your family will be able to enjoy themselves with many different forms of entertainment. The Pacific Theater offers a deluxe cinema experience that is sure to please, or if you like live shows or shopping, those are available too. If you are a little more adventurous, you can take a short taxi ride to basically any section of the city.
- While some people come to enjoy the beautiful weather, others make the journey to see the stunning old-world architecture that can be seen throughout the city. These buildings were built during the early part of the city’s life, and have since been renovated to restore them to their initial luster and charm. This area is now known as the Victorian National Historic District .
- Once again, the city’s beauty can be overwhelming at times. With fountains dotting the streets and plam trees lining the buildings, there is always a photo opportunity. Be sure to keep your camera ready at all times because you never know when inspiration may strike.
- Have you seen everything you wanted to see in the city? Only a few miles outside of the city lays arguably one of the world’s best zoo’s. The San Diego Zoo spans out over 100 acres and houses hundreds of exhibits. While it may take all day to see everything by foot, you can cross the park by flying through the sky in the special gondolas, shortening the trip to only minutes and offering breathtaking views of the animal enclosures.
- While the San Diego Zoo boasts the only panda exhibition in the United States, it also offers an incredible amount of biodiversity that includes exotic plants, reptiles, birds, insects and spiders, mammals and amphibians. Should you decide to make the trip, it is worthwhile to take the walk to the polar bear exhibit and the big cat alley to see the famed black panther and mountain lions.
- Do you like a bit of exercise while you look for a nice place to shop or eat? Why not take a trip north on the boardwalk just behind the hotel. This boardwalk takes you along San Diego Bay and boasts beautiful views of the water and 446-slip marina. If you walk far enough, you’ll eventually make it to the outdoor shopping area where you can find souvenirs and charming outdoor restaurants.
- The view from the famous San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum is both romantic and larger than life. A giant statue of the well-known World War 2 kissing picture dominates the pier and attracts lovers and romantics for picnics on the luxurious grass.
