This is not a particularly research-based case study... It’s simply a brief look at what I’m doing with several of these technologiesMy context for thisWe don’t have a campus... We use other people’s training rooms and facilitiesALEC is decentralised. I have an office but so do each of our contractors... At home...Two contractors in Auckland and two in Taupo, but most of us could be anywhereAnd personally, I’d rather be anywhere... On the gold coast perhaps...Generally, I don’t like meetings so I don’t tend to have very many... Instead we use email, my mobile phone, and skypeLower overheads = hopefully able to absorb funding cuts in 2010
Want to set up an electronic workspace for 2010... Not like the TECs... Investment plans!Tried GoogleDocs but eventually gave up... Also tried other online office applications... Still limited functionality in the text editing and table creation for example.MS Office Live looks like it could work as it meshes well with the normal office applicationsWikispaces looks like it could also work... Look at the success of Wikipedia...
Been to see a web development company...Investigating online learning possibilities... Moodle...Youtube... iTunes... Podcasts... Mobile technology including SMS... Might create an incentive for 2010 for our NCALE (Voc) students
So what are you going to do next?Jut pick one thing and try to integrate it at home... In your personal life...Then wait for the right time to apply it at work
