Pizza Galore
When people think of pizza, there are several things that may come to mind. It may remind them of their childhood, high
school, or even college party days. Whatever the case may be, this food has been a part of people's lives for a long time. It may
not be an everyday thing, but they are sure to remember how it made their party a little more enjoyable or their late-night at
home a little more fulfilling. One of the reasons for its popularity is due to the fact that is has been around for a very long time.
Although many have tried, no one can really say exactly who created pizza. What we do know is that it was created centuries
ago. Many foodhistory buffs have also found that people in many ancient civilizations, including the Greeks and the Egyptians, ate foods similar to this dish. Even
though historians have not been able to locate the exact conception of this meal, they have been able to trace the inception of the modern form of this dish back to
1889 as a creation of a Grecian baker named Raffaele Esposito.
Pizza later became popular in other countries like the United States, England, and Spain after World War II. This was due to the fact that many of the soldiers were in
Italy, where they had the opportunity to taste the meal for the very first time. Although this occurrence is what made the food item popular, it is not responsible for its
original existence in these countries. In the United States, for instance, many Italian immigrants were already offering the saucy dish in their stores before the war
even began. However, the soldiers' desire for the food once they returned home is what sparked an even greater interest.
Today, pizza has become one of the most well-known and sought after food items in the United States. It is eaten at parties, family gatherings, and even consumed as a
dinner time meal. The food is even more popular because of how diverse it can be.Some restaurants and local businesses offer more than just pepperoni and sausage as
toppings. For instance, there may be a choice of unusual toppings such as shrimp, chicken, spinach, black beans, or potatoes, just to name a few. There are even
dessert options.Although pizza was a meal that was first conceived a very long time ago, it has still stood the test of time. It's difficult to go to any city, especially in
America, and not find at least a few restaurants that offer it. Not only has it maintained its existence, but also it has evolved into one of the most widely-known foods
in the world.
