 A NFL player makes close to $2 million in 2009
 In 1926 the first large NFL contract was for 19 games
and was for $100,000
 In 1970 the owners agreed to a $9,000 minimum
salary for rookies and $10,000 for veterans
 Because of rival leagues and NFL strikes in 1982 and
1987 salaries rose.
 By the start of 1993 the average salary was $800,000
