Gegraphy Their population is about 5.8 million of people. Their climate is humid subtropical. It has a total area of 142.6 square miles, 135.1 square miles is land and the rest is water. The bodies of water that are included are Delaware, Schuylkill River, Cobbs, Wissahickon, and Pennypack Creeks.

History ,[object Object],Philadelphia grew from a few hundred inhabitants in 1683 to over 2,500 in 1701. The population was mostly English, Welsh Irish,Germans, Swedes, Finns, Dutch, and African Slaves. Logan, who was the mayor of Philadelphia in the early 1720s, created one of the largest libraries in the colonies. He also helped guide other prominent Philadelphia residents, like John Bartram and Benjamin Franklin.

The row house was introduced to the United States via Philadelphia in the early 1800s and, for a time, row houses built elsewhere in the United States were known as “Philadelphia rows”,[object Object]
