3. As Always… Every activity we do in this class can be recreated with your own students Approach each activity with the intention of learning the skill and teaching the skill to others Always be brainstorming for creative lesson plans during each activity, and share your best ones with the class

4. Semester Trend Project Pick a topic/area/trend as a semester long research project – learn all you can and share what you learned Blog I-Search report that tracks your semester project Present in class on trend/news/site Present in class on your project

5. Online Masters Portfolio Create an online, multimedia, interactive Masters portfolio of all assignment files, links, and embed codes It can be made on Wiki, personal website, or Taskstream Introduce your portfolio with a webcam video discussing your masters project and plans Include embeddable materials, additional videos, audio, Flash, widgets, slideshows, and so on

6. Student Presentations Each class will start with a student presentation on the best, latest, hottest, most amazing new trend in technology, or new site or service, or other news Link all sites in Delicious Display sites in class 5 – 7 minutes Give advance notice if login / signup required

Create Content at 10 Web 2.0 Sites Draw from my list or find your own Preferred: Content is classroom focused, masters-project focused; it can be personal or experimental content Create links or embeds in portfolio Create links in Delicious Use the site content from this project for the next project….. 8. Embed Content from 20 Web 2.0 Sites Create one Wiki page that displays 20 embedded objects from other websites Draw from my list or find your own Include masters course work that embeds Include movies, photos, photo slideshows, PowerPoint shows, music, widgets, surveys, share buttons, and so on

9. File Conversion Exercise You will be given a disk full of multimedia files: .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, .M4P, .MP3, .JPG You will be required to convert, resize, and otherwise manipulate these files You will be given the software or source of software necessary to manipulate files

10. Make a Movie, Edit a Movie, Post a Movie Using available movie cameras we will each make at least a five-minute movie You can draw from a list or create your own You can include students or make a family movie You can film a simple sequence: A person gets in car and drives away A person enters kitchen and eats cereal A teacher enters classroom and prepares for the day We will explore camera-to-computer uploading We will edit in Adobe Premiere We will output it for Internet streaming

Is Tech Integration Doomed to be a Niche Tool of a small Cadre of Teachers? Week 3 Emerging Trend: The Internet is the new OS Project: Create Content at 10 Web 2.0 Sites It is possible to own a computer connected to the Internet and get by with little to no installed software.? Activities: Student presentations Portfolio construction concerns Create content at 10-12 different websites Use my list, or find others Preferred: Shape content around MA project or classroom activity; otherwise, use personal or experimental contend Embed the content into a Wiki page – use a table with 21 rows, 2 columns In left column, identify site and content; in right column, embed content (or insert link)

File Conversion Project You will be given approx 600 megs of multimedia files, a string of open source software titles, and a PPT with precise instructions HW Convert multimedia files Continue Wiki 20 Embedded Portfolio site Film an intro to your portfolio and upload it to a Tube service, YouTube, TeacherTube, SchoolTube.
