Ronnie Summers reflects on the first year of implementing the Curriculum for Excellence in schools. While it is no longer an abstract concept but a reality, much work remains to be done over the next several years. Some assessment documentation has been delayed but should be released soon. Teachers are beginning to consider what evidence of learning they need to gather for reports and how to incorporate the new terms of "developing, consolidating and secure." Overall, implementing the curriculum remains a work in progress but progress is being made.
