2. Once there was a little girl called Aline who wondered what she
would be one day...
3. Her grandparents loved her, but they didn’t want her to follow the
artistic world. They said people who followed this path were too
promiscuous and had a hard life, because they didn’t earn enough
money to make ends meet...
4. Her father wanted her to be a public servant, a nurse, an engineer,
a doctor maybe or anything that would guarantee her enough
money to be independent and would also make her happy...
5. Her mother said she could be anything she wanted as long as she
chose something honest, descent and which she could earn enough to
be independent and be happy. So, her mother suggested she cold be
a lawyer or a teacher...
7. ... a pink bailarina dancing and she immediately decided what she
wanted to be...
8. But since she didn’t like pink so much, she decided she would be a
blue bailarina...
9. When she told her parents that she wanted to be a blue bailarina they
became worried, because they knew that is a profession not well
recognised and valued in Brazil, yet... Also, it’s a very competitive
profession with a very short period of life, the older you get more difficult
it is to continue being a bailarina...
10. ...She tought for a long time about what her parents had told her and
about the arguments they used...
11. The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to become a
blue bailarina...
12. She talked to her friends who were also ballet dancers and they
told her they suffered the same kind of pressure at home, because
their parents used to say the same things to them... They listened very
respectfully to them, but then just carried on with their dream...
13. After listening to everyone and analysing all the pros and cons, she
made up her ming, She decided she would fight for her dreams and
overcome all the obstacles she would find on her way to accomplish
her goal...
14. Although she knew that her most difficult obstacle to overcome would
be her inner feelings, like the feeling of being insecure and afraid of
failing and not achieving her goals and feeling like a sucker. She had to
face all the inner ghosts that haunted her before facing others ...
15. There were days when she thought about surrending and giving up
everything, but then she remembered that God was her strenght and
whenever she prayed to Him... Her faith on everything was renewed and
only then she could find strenght to carry on
16. ...And so, by doing what made her happy, by doing what she needed to
become independent and by renewing her strength through prayers, her
heart found peace and she ended up doing both the things she loved and
what she needed...
17. For she discovered
that one thing does
not have to exclude
another. She found
out she could
achieve her dreams
part time and also
have a steady job to
give her the financil
support in times of
need... But, most of
all, she knew that
her strehght could
always be renewed
through her prayers.
18. And even if she
could not dance all
the times, she was still
a happy girl, because
- in her heart - she
would always be –
Aline, the blue
bailarina...
