2. • Background & Font Colour- this is used to separate different types of information
and to distinguish different areas of the webpage.
• Usability- the ease at which users can navigate the website and get access to
information
• Grid System- the division of the website to create separate sections that are easily
accessible

DESIGN & LAYOUT
3. • Music artists tend to have websites in order to be more interactive with their fans
and allow fans to engage with their content.
• Generic conventions are the basics of website design such as a URL, Navigation
Bar, and Multimedia content.
• A website allows an artist to engage with a global audience as they are free and
easily accessible to anyone around the world with internet access.
• Synergy also occurs on websites such as links to other companies like Facebook,
YouTube, Spotify and iTunes.
Websites for Artists
4. • Content- websites that have different functions and content will likely look different. For example, a
website dedicated to factual information will look very different to a website purely dedicated to
entertainment. Therefore, a website for a performer will be heavily focused on the performer and
promoting their songs etc.
• Genre- there are a set of genres for websites (e.g. tabloids and broadsheets) and users can
recognize these genres due to the codes and conventions used. Websites are based on existing
genres.
• Technical Codes Used- Most websites have moving images or audio content in order to adhere to
technical codes which now exist within website design, along with usually having an interactive
aspect to the website in order to immerse and interest the audience. E.g. a website for a performer
would have downloadable music and possibly music videos.
• Target Audience- Website design means webpages are directly interactive with their audience
meaning they use persuasive techniques to engage the audience. Web design is directly tailored to
the audience in order to entice them.
