WORK EXPERIENCE
UC Santa Cruz – Graduate Teaching Assistant Sep. 2015 – Present
• Conducting section meetings and holding regular office hours for the courses - Statistics/Gambling & Gaming.
University of Washington, Computer Science (Advisor - Prof. Jeffrey Heer) - Research Assistant Jun. 2015 -Present
• Built visualization tool for model selection in Linear mixed-effects models for HCI datasets. (Using R and shiny).
Institutional Research and Policy Studies, UC Santa Cruz - Graduate Student Researcher Jan. 2015 – Jun. 2015
• Participated in in all stages of survey data collection, survey designing, analysis, and reporting. Identified statistically significant differences in
student experiences based on their social background, identity, academic preparation, and field of studies.
Accenture - Software Engineer/Analyst Jul. 2010 - Aug. 2014
• Worked as a part of Business Operations team where I analyzed different metrics to study the impact when the Project metrics drop below a
certain level and then provide suggestions to better improve the metrics and better the business by using data analysis techniques.
Orangut Labs - Intern May 2009 - Jul. 2009
• Contributed towards the development of a website for their ‘Conference Management Suite’.
ITC Limited - Intern May 2008 - Jul. 2008
• Worked on a project ‘Better Recruitment Strategies’ where I had to analyze previous years’ data and propose new models/strategies.
PROJECTS
• Predictive modeling in prostate cancer – The project involves working on high dimensional prostate gene expression data from micro-array
experiment. Supervised PCA have been used for dimensionality reduction and identifying key genes, followed by classification approaches such
as LDA etc, for prediction of prostate cancer.
• Predict disease based on neuroimaging data – Extending Generalized Bayesian Tensor Regression with a scalar response against vector and
tensor covariates that have already been proposed to Bayesian probit model for disease prediction.
• Bayesian Regression Models for HIV dataset – Analyzed HIV dataset to understand the effects of age, treatment in the percentage of CD4 cells
by using Bayesian Regression Models. Studied sensitivity of the results with respect to different priors within each model type.
• Bayesian models for life expectancy dataset – Analyzed life expectancy dataset to understand the relationship between life expectancy, gross
domestic product and population size in the Americas by using Bayesian linear and hierarchical model.
• Bayesian Hierarchical model to estimate proportion of bicycle traffic
