En nuestro medio los adultos >65 años utilizan de media 7-13 medicamentos crónicos ( FUENTE INFAC; Desprescripción). A este dato hay que añadirle el consumo de otros medicamentos no prescritos, pero utilizados, los de automedicación. Nos encontramos ante un panorama de elevado uso de medicamentos con sus riesgos clínicos, éticos y económicos y ante el cual, es necesaria una fuente de información fidedigna, accesible. El farmacéutico comunitario puede ayudar en este cometido.
