July 28 TANAH LOT & MONKEY FOREST WITH SUNSET COCKTAIL AT RESTAURANT
Alas Kedaton is Bali’s famed monkey forest. Its towering nutmeg
trees are unique to this area and are sacred to the Balinese people. It
is undoubtedly also home to Bali’s cheekiest inhabitants, the
monkeys. No trip to Bali is complete without seeing monkeys in the
living skyscrapers of Alas Kedaton. From there, you will travel to
Mengwi, to see the Pura Taman Ayun (Garden Temple in Water)
one of the six Royal Temples in Bali. The Pura Taman Ayun is the
most famous temple and arguably one of the most beautiful on the
island. This tour also features an evening visit to Tanah Lot, a
magnificent temple perched gingerly on a huge rock resting just off the shore. As the sun sinks into the
horizon, the fleeting beauty is both touching and inspiring.

techniques of food preparation and the cooking style used in our island home. Each tantalizing recipe is
accompanied by clear step-by-step descriptions for easy reference.
The program starts with an early morning visit to the local vegetable and fish market where many of the
ingredients are purchased for the day’s program, including spices, meat, chicken, cakes and the freshest
seafood. Visitors will witness and experience the very busy early morning activities of the local
community, who are eager to finish their shopping before 7:00am.
The next stop will be with a person who is collecting fish from the returning fishing fleet. No fish will
make it into our shopping basket without crystal clear eyes and the freshness of the wide ocean. After a
satisfying breakfast of Balinese cakes, the freshest fruits, black rice pudding and a bowl of tender sweet
rice flour dumplings in palm sugar coconut sauce, we will leave the comfort of the dining pavilion and
enter the wide open Balinese kitchen.
Dressed in black and white aprons and a copy of 25 recipes, participants will be guided through the many
secrets and flavors of Bali as well as discover and feel the peacefulness of a harmonious Balinese home.
After four informative and entertaining hours in the kitchen, the small group will face the grandest and
final task of sampling and enjoying the mouth-watering dishes that the group has prepared. The day will
conclude after a glass of piping hot Balinese coffee, the ever-popular black rice pudding and a creamy
pumpkin cake.

Breakfast at the hotel
Tour the southern most part of Bali to the region’s most illustrious temple, the Pura Luhur Uluwatu, a
Balinese Sea Temple. Perched 250 feet above the water, it’s a perfect vantage point to the beach below –
one of the best for surfing on the island. Watch the huge waves roll in from the Indian Ocean and crash
against the cliffs – and keep an eye out for monkeys, as they love Uluwatu as much as we do! Then you
will travel to Bali’s newest and most prestigious resort enclave of Nusa Dua. The final destination for the
day will be Tanjung Benoa, a fishing village with powdery white sands.
