2. Holocaust Memorial Day is a memorial day
for about 6 million Jewish people, who was
murderded by the Nazis in the second world
war, only because they were Jews. Until
today we are trying to remember the
casualties of the Holocaust. On the Holocaust
Memorial Day we have ceremonies at school
every year. It takes place a week before Israel
Independence Day. We all hope that this
catastrophe won't happen again.
3. Over 1.5 million children
from across Europe
were murdered under
the Nazi regime. Their
stories illustrate the
brutality of Hitler's rule.
4. Around 10,000 children, mostly
Jewish, were sent, without their
parents, out of
Austria, Germany, Poland and
Czechoslovakia to Britain.
5. • Can you imagine yourself withought the
people who you love more than anyone else.
Can you imagine yourself left alone and lost
withought parents, friends or people you
know in a different country.
• You are all very lucky and should be thankful
for the love and care your parents are giving
you.

7. • If you would like to know more about the
Holocaust, you could read a very
interesting, touching and inspiring book
called:
Anne Frank
It is about a young girl and teenager growing
during the war with Hitler.
I would recommend it.
