does not necessarily mean they are the best
  person for the job.
• “I am only willing to take the “perfect person”
with every item on my 1000 piece must have list.
• Hiring for present needs.

“If I could only clone myself”…
Actually, I can't imagine anything more tedious
than a perfect person, especially if it was
someone who also demanded perfection from
me.

  7. Chances are, as an entrepreneur, you are high orange and high green.
  8. But what happens when these different people have differences of opinions?"Freelance" - We thought we were finally free of politics (we’re on our own!) and now we need to get back into the dreaded people stuff?Opposites do attract for a reason, and also create fireworks. We are different people with different personalities, tendencies, skill sets and perspectives. The things that make you the most mad at people usually are the things that are opposite that you just can’t wrap your head around and we clash because we just don’t understand/see there is another perspective or style of communication (especially when at work in stress mode when we are focused on our own agenda and projects that need to be pushed through).Ex. Sales people often clash with the rest of the team. This is because they create chaos and bring the outside world into the nice orderly office. Let’s look at how these must co-exist to make it work… Without sales people no one has a job. However, They make promises and expect and need the team to execute the details so the company can deliver. Without the detail executors the company cannot deliver. Without the visionaries the company does not exist. Without the team builders no one wants to work there.Stop and look at where someone else is coming from, what is their agenda? why they are different? and how can their strengths can make up for some of your weaknesses?Ross Bob (Ops Mgr) and Darrell John (Sales Mgr) are complete opposites. John was hired to build a funnel of business essentially form scratch. He started on his own. As his department grew, we needed to add some structure and have someone back at the ranch as the contact point. We hired Bob. Know they are opposites and razz each other all the time, but together they are much more efficient, perform on higher level and the team keeps building. I have hired numerous times a month in this department for the past year because this marriage works. This allows you to focus on the things you do enjoy and are good at.When creating the job description for new team members factor out which parts of your job you are strong in and which parts you enjoy the most. Which parts do you enjoy the least/have to focus more energy to accomplish? Hire someone who is strong in those areas and wants to do those things.
  9. It might not just be for growth but to allow for change.Overall business plan:What would you like to accomplish this year compared to last year? What concerns do you have if you don’t achieve your goals for this year?Do you have the people (including yourself) to take you there?Remember to take your business plan a step further…Incorporate your team and each individual into your company goals. They are the people who will be making it happen.
