2. The first Slasher film
The first Slasher film was possibly ‘Thirteen
Women’ made in 1932, which shows the basis of
all Slasher films, a collage sorority with one
vengeful peer wanting to kill all the others in a
horrific way.
3. Later Slashers
Later Slashers such as Blood Feast (1963) and
Color me Blood red (1965) these films where
tiled ‘splatter films’ as there was so much gore
there was nothing else to describe it as.
4. The Slasher film in its prime
This era of Slasher films was know to be the best
of all time, where famous films such as ‘Friday
13th’ and ‘Slumber Party Massacre’ these films
are from around 1980’s and onward, some of
these where either remakes of films or
continuations such as ‘Texas Chainsaw
massacre’.
5. Slashers Today
Slashers today have become more realistic and
gut retching that some people are scared of the
thought of watching the film such as ‘Texas
Chainsaw Massacre: The beginning’ and others
which thanks to new technology and
misguidance of the human eye seem to be more
gory and horrific than any that where made
before.
