10 Tips from a Marriage Coach on Dating Your Partner
One of the reasons many newlyweds
struggle is because they forget to date. If
you come to a marriage coach, one of the
tips the coach will provide is to
remember to date your spouse. The
same spark you had while you were just
a dating couple needs to extend to your
spouse once you are married. Here are
10 tips to help you remember how to
date now that you are married.
1. Be spontaneous, planning dates occasionally that are not on the calendar.
2. Have a scheduled date night. This is the opposite of being spontaneous,
but make sure you have a scheduled date night so you don't forget to have
a date.
3. Dress up like you did when you were not married. Put on some extra
cologne or makeup to really impress.
4. Hold the door for your date, or bring flowers or something small your date
loves. Remember to romance each other even now that you are married.
5. Get ready separately, just as you would have when you were dating. This
gives you the chance to surprise your spouse with how much you have done
to prepare.
6. Hold hands. Small gestures of physical affection can lead to more
connected feelings and affection towards one another.
7. Remember to flirt. Tell your spouse how attractive you find them, how
nice he or she looks, or how much you want to make out with them.
8. Exercise together. Exercising is an endorphin boost, and that can make
your relationship feel happy and fresh again. Going on a hike, bike ride, or a
walk in a new place creates a shared experience that boosts the novel.

9. Try something new together. Explore your city on your date nights and
find new favorite restaurants and entertainment options.
10. Stay in sometimes. Date night doesn't have to be a trip to a fancy
restaurant. Get dolled up and then stay in!
Remember, dating is about investing time in your spouse. You need to do so
if you are going to thrive as newlyweds. Dating is about having fun together.
Don't let the dating stop because you are married. Keep the spark alive with
regular date nights.
