FOSTEr in MED project kick-off meeting was held in Cagliari, on February 26th 2013.
The total budget of FOSTEr in MED project is 4,5 million Euro and it is financed for an amount of 4,05 milion Euro by European union through the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme (www.enpicbcmed.eu).

3. PRESENTATION OF THE CCIT
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis is an economic
organization which has notably as objective: To promote the
economic activity in the district of Tunis through these missions:
1.
Providing the public authorities and policy makers with
information, opinions and suggestions of SME’s (1100 members)
2.
Providing the Tunisian companies with the useful economic
information and assistance in order to develop their business
mainly on the international scale
3.
Organizing cycles and seminars of training
4.
Assisting companies in the international trade operations and
contribute to develop partnership opportunities in the areas of
Industry, Commerce, Crafts and Small business through:
Managing partnership meetings, businessmen's missions abroad,
exhibitions, participate in international economic events…
4. Some of CCIT references in Mediterranean projects

INVEST IN MED – Initiative ETINET (ANIMA):
The project seeks to achieve a transfer of know how, and to increase the
volume of direct foreign investments from the European Union towards high
added value tourism sectors in the rest of Mediterranean countries

Meditour 2008 – Third edition of the Mediterranean forum of
tourism (ASCAME): The objective is to develop the tourism in the
mediterranean.

The Academy of Business of the ASCAME /IMCI: The project seeks
to develop e-learning and to establish a virtual campus ASCAME as well as
the development of an economic observatory
MED PORTS/ Cluster development of port logistics services in
the Mediterranean Basin (ANIMA):
The objective is to strengthen the skills and services of Business Support
Organizations to companies working in the sectors of logistics port services
in the following concerned countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Italy.
5. Importance of the project
To exchange experiences and solar photovoltaic technologies
between both shores of the Mediterranean
To increase the share of renewable energy sources in Tunisia
The Tunisian Energy Context is characterized by :
• High growing in international oil price.
• Limited potential of national hydrocarbon resources.
• Rapid increase in energy demand.
• Annual energy subsidy increase.
Tunisia’s government has undertaken steps to promote the
development and use of renewable energy:
2005-2008: A law establishing an “energy conservation system” on
energy management
2009: The first national Solar Energy Plan (2010-2016)
2010-2011: Prosol Elec Project (Roof top): Installing photovoltaic solar
panels in 1000 units (homes and buildings)

6. Role and involvement of the CCITUNIS
•
WP4 (Context Analysis): The CCIT will contribute to analyse the local
context (local normative aspects, attitudes of the Tunisian energy
stakeholders (citizens, policy makers, industrials, technicians) through
survey instruments: Questionneres and in-depth interviews
•
WP5 (Territorial Animation): The CCIT will contribute to the territorial
animation activities through organizing and managing the acivities planned
at local level involving local and international administrators and citizens
•
WP6 (Competences Transfer): CCIT, through the technical and scientific
committee (TSC) selected member, is supposed to:
Manage training path at the local level for designers, SMEs and students
Detect the local private sector needs (especially SMEs) in the field of solar
energy (PV)

WP7 (Pilot Projects): At the framework of the pilot project, CCIT will
contribute to identify public building in Tunis in order to implement solar
panel plant
