• Focus:
• A clear target audience (bloggers and e-commerce)
• Developers were able to build a successful business at
WordPress.com pretty much from day one.
• By contrast, several CMS; such as, Drupal and Joomla tried to be
“everything a geek might need”. As it is commonly known, having
clearly defined uses is more effective than working in the
abstract.
• Ease of Use:
• WordPress is the easiest CMS for a non-techie to install and set up,
and the easiest to use out of the gate
• Mark stated that most people could operate WordPress without
reading manual in advance (Mark, 2011).

• The Blogging Factor:
• The blog factor is a great strength that helped to establish
WordPress as a CMS
• Also, it is supported by the fact that:
• The 18th most visited website in the world.
• Claimed to have “355,355 bloggers.”
• On WordPress.com’s home page, three out of eleven of the blogs run
on their own domains,
• One out of eleven (or 9%) is in the top 1 million websites, according
to Alexia.
• Approximately, 9% of all WordPress.com blogs (or 34,000 blogs) are
in the top 1 million websites.
