Creative Confidence in Social Innovation @ First Tuesday Bergen 2. feb 2016 Federico Lozano - Asst. Professor @ NTNU Creative Confidence in Social Innovation We are all born with creative confidence. Unfortunately, we lose it along the way as be grow older, become more “educated,” and get established in life. We can rekindling this confidence, however, in order to channel our energies towards helping those who need it the most. Indeed, it is said that no other endeavour brings more happiness and fulfilment than helping others. In this talk we will discuss how to tap into our childhood imagination and create organizations and movements that have a enduring, positive impact on society. Fede has spent his professional life creating stuff, building organizations, and teaching. Prior to his current role as an Asst. Professor at the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), where he was named Teacher of the Year, he launched a couple of startups. His latest social venture—funded by Stanford University, where Fede earned his MBA—offers business-training services to immigrants in Spain. He also worked at d.light, one of the world's leading design-driven social enterprises founded at the Stanford d.school, and led the sales and marketing department of his family's auto-parts firm. Originally from Mexico City, Fede grew up in Southern California, is a Spanish citizen, and is married to a Norwegian. He has an obsession with designing transformative learning experiences and a tendency to eat outrageously spicy foods. Federico is also the academic director of DT Bergen, the first design-thinking executive-education program in Norway.
