Promotion : content,
communication tools, mapping
and marketplaces
• Website > Suggestions:
• Make sure member section is updated.
• Central library of recent publications / non-
commercial content > Allow
students/scholars to publish here.
• E-mail - make sure the e-mail content isn't too
long and easily scannable.
• Press
• presence: SPOC for journalists in general as
the place-to-be for information on Fintech.
• Suggestion: invest time in good
relationships with those journalists.
• Social media channels
• good job in relaying posts from the community
(Linkedin is working well, Facebook (low visibility?),
Twitter (good)...)
• Suggestions:
• to create "link sharing" community.
• Youtube channel - invite all members to subscribe

Dialogue with Regulators
and Policy Makers
Objective Nr. 1: ensure that FTBE and the fintech
sector know the regulatory/policy making landscape
and what to expect from them:
• a. Identify the departments/contacts at the
regulator/policy makers that are the correct
interlocutors for the different topics/requests that
FTBE and its members may have (mapping
exercise)
• b. Provide a training/small info session to our
members on what to expect from the
regulators/policy makers and the do’s and don’t’s
with them (if possible, in collaboration with the
regulator)
Objective Nr. 2: strengthen the relationship with the
regulators/policymakers and increase the trust
between the sector and the regulators:
• a. Invite them more systematically to our events
– not only as speakers but also simply to listen to
the industry, and not only the payments team but,
for instance, AML team when we discuss AML
aspects, etc
• b. Organising the presence of policymakers at
events from FTBE/our members – to help them
familiarizing with the technology/new projects

Objective Nr. 3: ensure that the fintech sector is
(more) taken into account/listened to by regulators
and policy makers: organise a dialogue where FTBE
could:
• a. present the initiatives in other EU countries
for the fintech industry and how this benefited
those economies
• b. insist on the digital finance strategy

• Transparency to our members on
• who we connect to
• what our main point are that we are working on for our members.
• Connection at association level (febelfin, agoria, assuralia):
• Common grounds towards policy, ministers etc.
• Members connection and complementarity:
• Matchmaking of needs and painpoints between both associations’ list of members (grouping, and
solving)
• Check whether members can come with joint offerings per vertical (accountingtech – insurtech -
…) to see what larger, joint painpoints they could help solved
• Invite the associations to come and meet/connect with our members.

Sharing mission:
New types of events
• Digital events are good, but only for "easy to
digest", max 1h sessions. Where there is
something to learn for example.
• Physical events ARE NEEDED, to enhance the
networking mission of Fintech Belgium.
Networking, is where the potential sales
discussions can also take place. That can only
happen in person events.
• Timing of events: it can me a mix of digital
short 1h session during lunch time, and physical
events in the late afternoon. FIRE is the perfect
place for that.
• Themes: 2021 events calendar’s topics are
appreciated. Nothing else to add.
Networking: need for Speeddating/meetups
short sessions, where people can make business
connections among them.
• Hybrid events: Idea was also to add screens
during physical events, where people who wants
to stay remotely, of from international parties,
can log in, and have speed dates sessions with
people at the event.
