- Security by design & from the start zou ik zeker mee nemen. De kost van data breaches wordt steeds hoger, denk aan GDPR. De waardebepaling door een investor wordt steeds meer beïnvloed door de security posture. Je ziet dat het vaak erg moeilijk is om security achteraf toe te voegen. Not invented here syndroom : Maak duidelijke keuzes waar je toegevoegde waarde kan brengen en waar je tijd en geld (van je investeerder) moet insteken vs standaard componenten/services te gebruiken. Scalability of development & Keep it simple. Maak iets waar niet enkel de “unicorn developer” kan op verder bouwen. Manage open source dependencies from the start: Apps bestaan voor 80% of meer uit open source. Mogelijke risico’s die een investeerder zal bekijken zijn: is je IP in gevaar door verkeerde licenties, zijn er security vulnerabilities, en gebruik je recente, supported, versies van open source componenten. Gebruik de juiste tools om je dependencies te managen.
