This document is a PowerPoint presentation about subject pronouns in English given by Fernando Benitez Leal. It defines subject pronouns, lists the singular and plural forms of each pronoun, and provides examples of how and when to use each pronoun. Some key rules covered include using "he" for males, "she" for females, and "they" for unknown genders. It also discusses using "it" for animals or objects and warnings about always using a capital "I" and dummy subjects like "it" or "there" when no other subject is present.

4. Pronouns are words we use in
the place of a full noun.
SUBJECT PRONOUNS
Singular Plural
1st person I We
2nd person You You
3rd person He/ She/ It They
5. Rules
We use HE to refer to men or a boy, and
SHE to refer to women or a girl. When we
are not sure if we are talking about a man
or a woman we use THEY.
This is Jack. He’s my brother.
This is Angela. She’s my sister..
You could go to a doctor. They might help you.
6. • We use It for an animal or thing.
This is a dog. It‘s pretty.
• We use You in the singular and
plural.
• We use They for people, animals or
things.
7. We use subject pronouns as subject of the
verb:
I like your dress.
You are late.
He is my friend
It is raining
She is on holiday
We live in England.
They come from London.
8. Warning:
• English clauses always have a
subject:
His father works at a school.
Is a teacher. > He is a teacher.
I’m waiting for my wife.
Is late. > She is late.
9. Warning:
• Always write I with a capital letter.
NOT: Emily and i are fourteen.
• If there is no other subject we use
IT or THERE. We call this a dummy
subject.
