You have been called for an interview.
Background This is the 1st round of interview, which is to check you’re grooming skills and personal
Scenario attributes.
The dress code is formal wear. During the 1st round of interview your attire, grooming &
communication skills will be assessed by the panel.
You are a cabin crew working with an international airline.
Your 2nd round of interview will be held after your aviation & interviewing skills sessions are
over. You need to carry your CV along with other testimonials for the interview. Your attire
needs to be professional and overall grooming must reflect that of a cabin crew.
You have to prepare a CV, which will project the first impression about you as a suitable and
deserving candidate for any desirable post in the service industry. Interview will be a GD, one-
to-one with G.K. Questions could be related to the job in discussion, service industry apart from
general awareness.
The Final Grades will be based on the performance and internalisation shown by the learner
throughout the course.

You should be able to internalise the lessons taught to you during classroom
sessions of grooming which usually takes place within the first 2
months of joining the course, you will be assessed in three different
assessment sessions throughout the course. The schedule will be as
follows:-
1st Assessment – Immediately after completion of grooming classes.
2nd Assessment – Approximately three months after completion of classes.
Note: Please provide digital evidence of your grooming standard before the
grooming classes begin and at the time of 2nd assessment.
Tasks for Assessment 1.
With the help of a presentation (PPT) elaborate with examples, the personal
qualities required for working in the Aviation and Hospitality Industries. Your
presentation should be in bullet points and you should explain the points in
your own words in a presentation not exceeding 5 minutes. Also detail your
presentation with an action plan which you would have made for yourself on
the following :-
Personal grooming treatments
Techniques to improve and maintain condition of skin
Techniques to improve and maintain condition of hair
Suitable diet with justification with a weekly menu.
Draw up an exercise regimen for yourself in the following situations & include P
it in the presentation.
a. Identify your weight in proportion to your height.
a.1 Optimum height – weight ratio
a.2 Overweight by 2kgs to 5 kgs / or more
a.3 Underweight
After you have identified yourself now prepare an exercise/fitness
regimen in correlation to the diet plan proposed by you earlier for yourself
to maintain your optimum height-weight situation or to loose the extra
weight or to gain weight. Your regimen report must include the following:
Your height and weight
Types of exercises you would combine in your specific condition to
maintain / lose/ gain weight.
The purpose of the exercises and their effect on losing /gaining
weight. Focusing on the areas where you would have to reduce / put
on weight / or tone your muscles to balance your structure and gait
while walking elucidate the exercises you have enlisted in your
regimen. Which exercise is for which zone and how it will help to tone
your structure.
Your estimated time span for reducing / gaining weight when you
undergo the regimen you proposed.
Demonstrate your swimming skills by swimming unaided for 30 metres. As
evidence, produce an observation report signed by a witness (swimming
instructor or counsellor or TC or grooming faculty).

unique style, answer the above question.

3. Tasks for Assessment 2.
You will face a mock interview panel made of faculty/PE/TE/CH. You will
come professionally attired with a CV and present yourself to the panel
for interview and be assessed on a number of factors as mentioned in M
the interview assessment sheet attached. Carry out a SWOT analysis on
your skill set & present this to the panel with explanation as to how this
can hinder/enhance your performance in an interview. &
All the points will be recorded in the attached observation report.
You achieve Pass when you score a minimum of 3 (average) in each
parameter of the observation report.
You achieve Merit when you score a minimum of 4 (average) in each
parameter of the observation report. D
You achieve Distinction when you score a minimum of 5 (average) in
each parameter of the observation report.
The feedback which was given to you after the first assessment would form
the basis for the second assessment and this would be recorded by the panel
of interviewers.

4. Guidelines on Assessment for the Faculty
Merit & distinction criteria will be met based on the points obtained in the 2 nd assessment recorded in the
observation report. There is a correlation between the questions asked in the second assessment and the
score card. The final score for assessment 2 & 3 will be obtained on the basis of their improvement /
deterioration when compared to the previous assessment.

5. Pass Criteria (1st Assessment)
All pass criteria tasks are to be assessed verbally.
To check if the learner has understood the concept:
• The student should be able to present herself/himself adequately groomed for the initial selection round
which happens in an airlines interview.
• The student should be able to answer questions on personal attributes, basics of etiquette, impact of diet
and exercise, on themselves.
• They should be able to elaborate on the skin and hair care routine which they have adopted for
themselves with suitable justification.
• The panel comprising of at least two faculty members (one has to be a grooming faculty) should ask
relevant questions and grade them on the suitability of their responses.
• Each student has to face the panel and make a presentation with the help of slides/PPTs not exceeding 5
minutes on the grooming and fitness regime they have planned out for themselves.
Merit Criteria & Distinction (2nd Assessment)
All merit criteria must be assessed through observation and by asking questions.
• The student is expected to face a panel of interviewers made up of faculty members/CH/TE and appear
for a mock interview with a copy of CV and photograph, in correct attire. The faculty should compare the
presentation of the student and feedback given in the first assignment for evidence of application and
internalisation.
• Merit is achieved only if the faculty finds diet chart/skin & hair care regime to be effective on the learner.
There will be negative marking where the learner has not shown evidence that he/she has been able to
internalise the planning which was presented in the 1 st assessment. Attitude and communication skills will
also be tested for improvement.

10. Review Schedule.
The assignment should be rolled out after completing 15 sessions of grooming.
1st Review
2 Days after rollout.
2nd Review
The day before first assessment. Records should be kept for all reviews in the form of rough work done
by students and trainers should sign this with date, on the day the review is carried out.
Instructions for the Training Executive :-
• Will the help of this assignment the learner will be assessed twice during a period of course.
• This will motivate the learner to stay fit & well groomed through out their course in Frankfinn.
• The assignment has to be rolled out to the learner a week before grooming classes gets over.
• Review of all the tasks of the 1st assessment has to take place during the last 1 week of the
grooming session.
Records to be documented by Training Executive---
Grooming observation report of 1st assessment along with the developmental feedback form on
observation report , Grooming observation report, final score card , PPT slides of their 1 st presentation ,
review form,& assessment feedback sheet. These documents will serve as basis for the 2 nd assessment.
