The OP Island had humble beginnings. Most members were Blue status, with aspirations for Orange.
And then more people arrived. We had to make room for them. (And learning about and applying gamification & behavior design is more fun in a group, anyway.)
As the Island grew, we explored new territory. The Islanders developed new statuses, like Orange and Purple. With these new statuses came new powerups, which increased the meaningful choices and paths through the Island. More ways to learn about gamification and behavior design.
But as members reach Purple status, they are starting to wonder, where do I go next?
First, let’s look at the Blue, Orange, and Purple Powerups currently on the Island.

4. Background for This Challenge
The OP Island had humble beginnings. Most members were Blue status, with aspirations for Orange.
And then more people arrived. We had to make room for them. (And learning about and applying
gamification & behavior design is more fun in a group, anyway.)
As the Island grew, we explored new territory. The Islanders developed new statuses, like Orange and
Purple. With these new status came new powerups, which increased the meaningful choices and paths
through the Island. More ways to learn about gamification and behavior design.
But as members reach Purple status, they are starting to wonder, where do I go next?
First, let’s look at the Blue, Orange, and Purple Powerups currently on the Island.
10. Important Moment: The Development of SILVER
This is an important moment in the development of the Octalysis Prime Island.
As powerups become more and more significant to the experience of the Island, we need your help to
ensure the Island remains engaging for everyone who joins OP, no matter what status they might
achieve.
We also want members who achieve Purple status to be engaged enough to reach Silver.
What can we dangle them? (But that’s only one question.) How might we provide meaningful gameplay
for Blue, Orange, Purple, AND Silver Status members?
11. Your Challenge
It is time to design SILVER powerups.
Design one or several powerups, up to 8, one for each of the Core Drives.
The Challenge ends May 26! Submit early to gain approval and upvotes from other members, which
will earn you valuable EXP
Bonus: Explain how the SILVER powerup/s you have designed integrate or work together with
previous powerups & enhance the overall experience of OP for all members, including the likely
Endgame members who have achieved Silver Status.
12. Reward & Benefits
The better your Powerup design, the better the chance it will be included in the future Island Design!
If OP implements your Powerup design, you will be able to access it immediately (even before Silver 10!)
