I wanted to make this photo look
more red and bring the other
colours in the background too.
To do this I edited the photo in
Photoshop using the hue and
saturation tools. Increasing the
hue and saturation made the
slices of watermelon stand out
from the back ground more. I also
used the brightness and contrast
to make the picture look lighter
because increasing the saturation
makes the contrast of the picture
darker, so increasing the
brightness corrects this.

I used the saturation
tools to make the
reds and greens stand
out more. This made
the watermelon look
more appealing
The original photo
was too bright and
this created a lot of
white reflection so
I decreased the
shadows and
highlights.
As well as increasing the
brightness to make the
background lighter.

very dark so I had to
increase the brightness
quite a lot. So I adjusted
the contrast accordingly.
And then the
shadows and
highlights to make
the photo even
brighter.
After increasing the
brightness and made the
photos lighter I needed
to increase the
saturation.

in this image the
watermelon was very
dark but the sky was
bright and blue so
increase the brightness
and saturation on only
the melon I used the
magic wand tool to
seperated the
duplicated the layer and
put the watermelon on
a new layer.
I then increased the
saturation and brightness of
the watermelon then placed
them back on the original
photo.

I liked the original of this photo as it
was already quite bright so all I
wanted to to was make the colours
of the watermelon deeper and look
more appealing.
So to do this used the hue
and saturation tools and
adjusted till I was happy with
the result.
