o Priority can be determined by importance and
urgency

o Vital few (20%) - Trivial many(80%)
o Ineffective people work on Trivial many, effective

Apply ABCDE method to your plan
o A : Things that you must do top priority
o B : Things that you should do
o C: Things would be nice to do
o D: Things which can be delegated
o E: Things to be eliminated
 Results
o 85 % of what we do is because of the result we
expect or is expected of us
o 15% is because what we have been told
 To achieve results
o Set deadline (to put force on yourself)
• Finish before deadline (to outstand in team)
• Announce the deadline to others (to avoid delaying)
o Structure a self reward (to motivate and treat
yourself)
o Don’t stretch your task
 Track your time
o Write down what you do in a specific time
o Try to know how you spend your time
 Measure time
o Successful people measure time in minutes
o Less successful people measure in hours
o Unsuccessful people measure in days
 Align your time with your goals
o Where my time goes, is it in direction of my goals

 Positive:
o Low priority task
 Negative:
o High priority task
 Urgent vs important
o Important things will become urgent soon
o Urgent things some times are not important

o Break down big tasks in pieces
 Whatever possible
o You have work of high value, but low value work as well
o Delegate low value things which can be done by others
 Be clear when delegating

o Set deadline
o Put eye (never assume things will be done right)
