• Not later than October 1, 2005
o Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO) shall identify no fewer than
three commodities or services that could be purchased
more effectively and efficiently through the application of
strategic sourcing (excluding software)
5. • Beginning January 1, 2006
Chief Acquisition Officer from each agency shall report
annually to the Office of Federal Procurement Policy
regarding
Reductions in the pricing of goods and services
Reductions in the costs of doing business
Improvements in performance
Changes in achievement of socio-economic
acquisition goals at the prime contract
Develop methodologies for establishing baseline data
Using info from agency reports and other data
sources
6. Since inception of the program, $263M has been spent
through OS2 with an estimated agency savings of $32M
Sales through December totaled to approximately $263.0M, with
$12.0M in December, more than double what was spent this time
last year
Over 76% of spend ($199.4M) is going to small businesses
The mix of sales channels has remained relatively constant, with
GSA Advantage (36%) and Vendor Portals (28%) being the most
popular options
Current savings average 11% ($32.4M) with some agencies
showing savings of up to 32%
As additional vendors reach volume tier discounts, savings rates
should continue to be positively impacted
