2. * My media product makes full use of sound, by allowing it to
set an eerie feel to initiate the horror theme. The opening
sequence uses a minimal amount of colours (black and
white) unlike most horror themed title sequences which
install dark grungy colours into their effects.
* My opening sequence begins with a tracking shot, not
familiar used in typical horrors, it creates distortion and
hopefully piques the audiences interest as to why this is
occurring.
3. * When researching sound I listened to various horror themed soundtracks.
In the beginning I went for an eerier usage of violin strings and piano
notes to match the black and white title screen.
* When he recorded the footage of my title sequence I then realised that
the music needed to be much more modernised to match the shots. So I
writ a new sound plan and used more guitars and drums in the sound
track. There is also pre recorded voices in my ost, such as laughter and a
female voice which was slowed down to appeal to the horror genre.
* As a challenge the sound track I made went against the typical genres of
music used in horror, if heard alone the ost would sound like it belonged
to an action film however when played along with my opening sequence
title it sets the
4. * The setting chosen was a forest, it was used to emphasize a
sense of isolation, the single camp tent in the middle of the
trees showed how vulnerable the tent is. However I feel that this
scene did not work very well because the location chosen was
not as full as forestry as I would have liked. Also, because it was
day time I do not think the full effect of how horror themed this
scene could have been. Later the scene was taken out and the
café scene took over the opening sequence dominantly. There
were also problems with the café scene as it was not exactly
related to horror in any sense.
