The Europeana Fashion International Association aims to disclose European fashion heritage online through the Europeana Fashion project. It has 27 supporting members including 20 museums and cultural institutions and 7 creative professionals. The Europeana Fashion aggregator gathers over 800,000 digital fashion items from over 35 public and private institutions in 12 European countries. The Association promotes the collections through social media platforms like Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and collaborates with Wikipedia to make the content more accessible online.

The Europeana Fashion
International Association is a
non-profit organisation established
in the framework of the Europeana
Fashion project in order to bring
together and engage fashion
institutions (both GLAMs and
creative industries) in the
valorisation and exploitation of
fashion heritage online. It has now
27 supporting members, of which
20 GLAMs institutions and 7
professionals.
3. The composition of our
aggregator
The Europeana Fashion
aggregator gathers more than
800.000 digital fashion items
coming from more than 35
public and private
institutions from 12
European countries,
representing the leading
European institutions and
collections in the fashion
domain.
8. We published new Tumblr curations every month,
curated by our partners.
9. New Pinterest curations have been published,
synchronized with other social media activities.
10. Twitter activity has been increased with a frequency of
more than 3 tweets per day.
11. Our Facebook page is daily populated with items from
the Europeana Fashion collections.
12. Europeana Fashion since July 2015 is on Instagram
with daily upload of items from the Europeana Fashion
archive.
13. Setting up a collaboration with
Wikipedia
We’ve set up a direct collaboration with
Wikimedia Chapters in various European
countries
We organised a number of so-called
GLAM-WIKI events around Europe

Jurors said: “I feel the experience is both human interaction and
online experience and the project as whole looks quite impacting.”
And “This is an exciting project altogether from the heritage data
point of view. Curating so much of information will surely impact the
museum field a lot.”
