Základní seznámení se specifickou uměleckou formou internetového umění bude probíhat ve
třech oblastech:
(1) Nastínění historických počátků a základních milníků daných vývojem technologie i zlomovými
uměleckými akcemi.
(2) Seznámení se se základními poddruhy současného internetového umění v celosvětovém kontextu
(youtube-based net art, tumblr-based net art, facebook-based net art, webové stránky jako umělecká
díla atd.), stručné přiblížení současného posunu v teoretickém vnímání net artu a jeho definic.
(3) Výstavní a prezentační strategie současného net artu. Exkurz do etablovaných výstavních prostor
v rámci internetu, představení základních informačních rozcestníků, internetových galerií či
výstavních iniciativ. Jako bonus nastínění aktuálních prodejních strategií internetového umění.
Posluchači budou posléze schopni se na internetové scéně dále samostatně orientovat, případně si
sami vyzkoušet jednoduché konceptuální projekty.

7. V prosinci 1995 dostal Vuk Cosic zprávu (e-mail) od anonymního odesílatele. Kvůli inkompatibilitě
softwaru byla zpráva po otevření prakticky nečitelné ASCII cosi. Jediný čitelný fragment který dával
jakž takž smysl vypadal nějak takto:
[...] J8-g# |;Net. Art{-ˇsl [...]
Vuka to velmi pobavilo a nadchlo: samotná síť mu dala název pro aktivitu, které se věnoval!
Okamžitě začal termín používat. Po několika měsících ten záhadný e-mail přeposlal Igoru
Markovicovi, jenž jej také právně dekódoval. Text, zdá se, byl celkem kontroverzním a vágním
manifestem, v němž autor obviňoval tradiční instituce umění ze všech možných hříchů a prohlašoval
svobodu sebevyjádření a nezávislosti umělce na Internetu.
