Review of a Web 2.0
I came upon classtell in my 8th
grade year at my high school, when it was required for us to
communicate with our teacher, but not through social media. It was a website created by our teacher,
she had the passwords and she set the limits and rules for what was to go on the website. I think
classtell is very effective in doing just exactly what it does, being it’s free. It allows for collaboration
through email, and real time. Being its free is what really helps because it’s not cheap for teachers to get
things for the students on their own. It’s very easy to use, you get to do whatever you want to it and it’s
for just your classroom. There are very few limitations for this website that allow you to put as much as
you need. The 1GB that allows you to upload and share files is great as well. The website title is very
simple so that’s easy to remember for the students. We did not run into very many problems on this
website, and if we did our teacher usually had it figured out before we came to class, they get back with
you very easy. Although there is not personal Skype or facetime type of collaboration it is very easy to
read lectures, read homework assignments and your peers are just an email away. This website was very
useful to our class room and I would recommend it to any teacher who wants something simple. Of
course there are far more magnificent teacher student websites out there but this you keep it plain and
simple.
