Preparation Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “Good morning Class” “Let us pray first, Anyone who wants to lead the prayer?” “Ms. Secretary may I know who are the absent for today?” “Good morning Sir” (One Student will lead the prayer) (The secretary will stand and tell who are the absentee)
  2. B. Motivation Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “ I want you to Imagine that Languages are not existing, English as well as Filipino do not exist. How do you feel? Anyone? (Pick 3 Students to Answer) “Thank you class, All of your answer are correct, It is very hard if the languages are not existing as all we know it is used as a major way to communicate with other people. We should learn to value this languages we have.” (Students will raise their hands) C. Lesson Proper Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “Today our topic is all about Course Descriptions of Language Subject Areas and Goals of Language, when you hear the word course description what comes in your mind? Anyone? (Pick 2 Students from each Group) “Thank you, Please listen Attentively because later on we will have our examination. “The course description is defined as the Birds-eye-view of the language subject that will be teaching. It gives some Brief information about the particular subject.” “How about the Goals and Expectations anyone? (Pick 2 Students from each Group) (Students raise their hands) “Brief information about the subject” “The target objectives to attain during or after taking the subject”
  3. Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “Thank you class. So the Goals or Expectations are the expected learning outcomes at the end of each grade or year. It supports the Birds Eye View of the Course or Subject.” “ Here in the Philippines there are two primary languages used, what are those?” “Yes Very Good. There are four language subject area that each students must take namely English for Elementary, English for secondary, Filipino Elementarya, and Filipino Sekondari. The Course description, goals and objectives for each subject area are lifted from the B.C.E. What does B.C.E. stands for? “Yes Very Good. “ “ The Course Description of English for Elementary is concerned with developing the competencies of the students in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Filipino Elementarya has the same course description with English Elementary but the only difference is Filipino language is used to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing.” “ So again what are the competencies English elementary and Filipino elementarya targets to develop? “Very Good! It seems like you are really listening to the discussion.” “The course description for English Secondary is to develop students to be a good English language communicator, as English is the International Lingua Franca.” “English and Filipino Sir.” “Basic Education Curriculum Sir.” “English elementary and Filipino elementarya targets to develop the competencies in listening, speaking, reading and writing.”
  4. “Anyone who has the idea what Lingua Franca Is?” “ If none, Lingua Franca is a language used by different people not sharing the same mother tongue, for example a Filipino and a Korean communicate using English language. English is a Lingua Franca. Did you get it class?” Very well, going back to the lesson Filipino Sekondari aims to teach the students how to use Filipino language properly , and to use Filipino language to other subjects. “ Yes Sir” D. Activity Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity “ I have here handouts about the goals and objectives of each Language areas, read this for two minutes then later I will ask someone to explain each, please get one and pass.” (Give the handouts) “Time is up. Let’s start, Ms. _______ please explain the Objective for Grade 1 English Elementary” “Thank You Ms. _______, Mr. _______ how about for Grade 2?” “Well said Mr. _______, how about grade 3 Ms. _______” “Very good Ms. _______, Mr. ____ explain the Objective for Grade 4” (Get one and read handouts) “ At the end of grade 1, students can recognize difference in speech and write common Words.” “Listen critically to 1-2 paragraphs and read signs and posters.” “Listen critically and get informations. Use basic language structure in oral and written form.” “Listen critically in new report and use English language to meet every day needs”

Learning Filipino Language help us communicate with our countrymen and can build a good nation. Learning English Language make us internationally competitive and become more successful.” (Students raise their hands) V. Evaluation Get a one fourth sheet of yellow paper and answer the following question. 1. It is the Birds Eye View of each language subject area. 2. The B.E.C. stands for______. 3. This language area seeks to develop a Internationally competitive students. 4. It is the expected learning outcomes of each students at the end of each grade or year. 5. 5-8. Enumerate the four competencies aimed to develop by the Elementary English ad Filipino Subject Area. 9-10. Two reasons why the Filipino Secondary should be taught. VI.
