2. BACKGROUND Frank Zappa was an American composer, songwriter, film, and record producer active between 1950 - 1993; during this time he had self produced over 60 albums. He hired the world’s best musicians and wrote some of the most intense/complicated music of his time. He died at age 52. Today, his son Dweezil Zappa, continues to spread his fathers legacy by performing old material. He utilizes many different audio/visual technologies to both project his father on stage (via screen) to perform.

8. RISKS VARIABLE COSTS Production could become more expensive (depending on number of cameras and the intensity of the editing process). However, the House of Blues has the process laid out very well. LACK OF PERFORMANCE The band could have an ‘off day’. However, the likelihood of this happening is very low; these musicians are some of the best in the country. ONE DAY SCHEDULE Set-up could take more than one day (depending on unforeseen circumstances). This is possible, however we have it built in to make money whether or not a DVD is produced
9. IN SUMMARY This is a very profitable and possible situation. I found that with a good fit between the artist and their venue is crucial to earning a profit in the end. This artist in a larger club would not return such a profit. They can only fill a 1,000-1,500 capacity club. It would be crucial to have a packed house for the recording of the DVD.
